Fascinating video from the New York Times on the growing fertilizer shortage, and possible solutions–including harvesting pig manure.  Is it a good idea?  But what’s in pig manure?  Are drug residues going to find that way into our corn?  Or are we going to get a richer mineral balance from switching to a more natural fertilizer, while Asia switches to synthetic NPK?  And what happens are the world increasingly wants to farm with NPK, the way we have?
